New business network in Barkingside for freelancers, sole traders etc in local pub

Guest blog – Emma Jones on her new Redbridge business network

I live in Barkingside and work from home quite a lot and I thought ‘why not set up a hub to meet others in the same situation’.  I’ve been thinking about it for a while and I just took the leap – find a nice venue, choose a time, create a Facebook event, use eventbrite to advertise! 🙂

Barkingside Business Hub is a group for people who are sole traders, working from home or local businesses, who want to meet like minded people without the pomp and ceremony of a huge breakfast, pressure to refer etc.

The group meets last Tuesday of each month at The Chequers, Barkingside and all are barkingside-tube-logowelcome, it’s very casual and relaxed.

Tues 28 February 12-2

I did this as there wasn’t a group like it in the area.  My business is in recruitment www.createconnections.co.uk and I’d like to meet other people in business locally.

Do come along and try it out!

Great idea Emma. Will be interesting to see if retailers attend too as the Barkingside business partnership has had difficulties getting engagement from the High Street.  See you there.  As a community group you may also like to check out resources  on our Enterprising Redbridge website  🙂 (Ros)
