Upcycling bike parts – a new green business venture launches at Redbridge Green Fair

Guest blog – Ritah Kambona of Salvation Army, Ilford

Recycling and making the most of what we have is an important part of the ethos of Ilford Salvation Army.

To put this into action, a group of people who include members and employees at The Salvation Army Ilford , guests at the RCWC and volunteers have started a new upcycling project using bicycle parts that can not be used by Recycles Ilford.

In essence that means that we reuse re-purpose and upcycle the bike parts into eco-friendly items.  Each item is unique; No two items look alike.  Each piece is sure to add a fantastic visual appeal to any home.

In addition to the bike parts , we are also using old music sheets to decoupage chairs.
Here are photos of some of our prototype upcycling efforts.

We launched at the Redbridge Green Fair last Sunday to great acclaim! Come and see our products at the Ilford Green Pop Up Market every 2nd Saturday of the month 10-2pm
