Sophia Hubs weekly entrepreneurs club welcomes Oddie the female painter decorator to share her business tips
Oddie, an Ilford female painter decorator and general ‘odd job’ woman is the speaker at the entrepreneur’s club on Tuesday 7th June 12.45-2.30. (St John’s Church)
Oddie lives in Ilford and gets most of her work from the roads around her home. She’s known and trusted and considers her ‘clients’ as friends. She rarely has to go looking for work.
Oddie thinks that her willingness to give advice to anyone on the subject she knows, without seeking or expecting work is important. She likes to get involved and help out on any building or home problems and takes the time to build up relationships, some of whom may become clients. Being involved in community life is what’s important and enough work comes her way.
I think being a woman means that I naturally use my interpersonal skills, and people appreciate it. Also I always tell the truth, so that if I think the customer can do something else to save money, I tell them they don’t need me.
This is a weekly club for start-ups to hear from someone in business, meet other start-ups, network, get support and information. We are partners with Enterprise Desk, Redbridge Chamber and Redbridge CVS. Voluntary groups are also welcome that want to develop business skills.
