There was a good vibe at Ilford’s first green pop up market on Saturday 13th February!  Delicious food, amazing bikes, great stalls and a really good atmosphere!  This was the result of a collaboration between Recycles Ilford, Sophia Hubs and Ilford Transition Town.

We are going ahead with a pop up green market to complement our monthly Saturday recycled bike sale – this was great event!  John Clifton, Salvation Army.

Dates for the rest of the year: Saturdays 10-2pm

  • 12th March, 9th April, 14th May, 11th June, 9th July, 13th August, 10th September, 8th October, 12th November, 10th December.

It was great to see upcyclers and green businesses come together and it was a great buzz. Begona Belmonte, Sophia Hubs green business champion and Ilford Transition Town

Recycles Ilford is a social enterprise that mends discarded bikes and sells them in good condition.  Homeless people are trained as mechanics and this is an important stepping stone for many people to get skills and into work. For more information about the pop up market and to have a stall (free!) contact Begona on hannunna@yahoo.com or ros.southern@sophiahubs.com
