Sophia Hubs contribution to local unsung hero sustainable business nomination!

ilford recycles teamKeith Young of Recycles Ilford has been nominated for the Guardian’s unsung hero for their sustainable business awards this year.  This is very exciting for Redbridge as there is growing interest in creating a vibrant green economy in the Borough.toni odun keith

Sophia Hubs is claiming a hand in this 🙂 as were behind the development into re-used paint distribution and introducing him to Odun Odundipe who has developed the first design for re-cycled bike panniers.  Info about the green business enterprise club last April here.  In the photo is Toni Dipple, founder of Organic Ilford, Odun and Keith.

At our enterprise club we have been supporting Bill Gallagher to set up an Eco Decorator business using the re-used paint, and Xavier Matieni who has just applied for a patent for a green energy switch.  We are negotiating a week that Rosie Kwayke-Safo from Eco Cleaning Services can be the enterprise club speaker this month.

We are planning to set up a green business meeting this month to explore ways we can collaborate and develop this sector in the borough.

Please do vote for Keith and recognise a sustainable business hero in Redbridge.
