We are very pleased to have a dynamic and experienced local businesswoman Debbie Skeete as our speaker at our weekly enterprise club on Tuesday (17 March). She attended a session a few weeks ago to help with our skills share. Debbie knows how to turn challenges into opportunites. She was made redundant in July 2012 and used it to her advantage. She took a little time out, traveled a bit and did a course at the Women’s Business Centre in East Ham (where she was entrepreneur of the year). She now runs a very successful business and has set up a couple of sidelines too. 🙂
Debbie had many years of experience in child care standards as an Ofsted visitor. She now advises nurseries as a paid consultant. Most of her contacts and contracts have come through word of mouth and she puts great emphasis on belonging to business networks. She will share the ones she knows about and would encourage you to keep networking both at Sophia Hubs and elsewhere. It’s time well spent!
One of Debbie’s new start-ups is the online childcare resources particularly aimed at the Caribbean who need cheaper access to good resources.
Hope to see a wide range of start-ups at the enterprise club on Tuesday 17th March at St Johns Church (no parking restrictions after midday for those driving). Arrivals 12.30 for tea and homemade cake. Session starts promptly at 12.45. There are business mentors on hand plus all the help start-ups can give each other! A growing network of support with plenty of opportunity to work on your business. Just turn up and stay until 2 or 2.30ish or beyond. 🙂
