Thanks so much for an inspiring talk by Sadiq Kothia of Taqwa Carpets in Seven Kings.
Sadiq runs a successful local business and he does it within his values base as a Muslim and with a very sharp listening ear. The values of the business are honesty, reliability and competitiveness, which does not mean the cheapest.
He has managed to turn complainants into his best advocates by listening to customer complaints attentively and admitting when mistakes have been made. As always our speaker said that the main marketing and promotion is through reputation and building up personal contacts. So his advice is – don’t be shy or embarrassed to be making money – you are trying to make a profit, be prepared to take calculated risks, learn from your mistakes, listen to your customer feedback, and be very clear about your values to keep your course clear.
Thanks Sadiq. I’m buying my carpet from your shop next time! 🙂
