We will be welcoming local entrepreneur Zina Mir as speaker this week. Zina set up ‘Handmade by Zina‘ with a loan from the East London Small Business Centre after showing them her business plan which she had developed herself. This took two years of ups and downs, trial and error and not losing her aim of wanting a business around crotchet.
Zina has a wealth of tips for anyone looking to set up in business and she wants to be flexible about what she shares with us, depending on the needs and interests of who comes along. She comes from a family of entrepreneurs but still feels she has had to learn for herself.
Zina is experienced in using social media, testing and adapting the product, using a SWOT analysis (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats), and much, much more.
Zina’s business now includes running classes in crotchet including with vulnerable women and with children at Christchurch Primary School in Ilford. She is leading a community crochet activity at the Redbridge Green Fair. She also takes a stall at the Woodgrange Market in Forest Gate and is interested in working with Sophia Hubs to support a market in Seven Kings. Watch this space!
Looking forward to seeing many of you there on Tuesday 6th May at 1.45 for 2 until 3.30ish.
